Plot description: This informational text shows both girls and boys that women have created such long-lasting inventions as the chocolate chip cookie and windshield wipers. Girls of all ages are featured, as well as their inventions and what inspired them to create them.

 

Theme description: This informational text is about creativity, what inspires it, and who can have it. It shows that women have done great things throughout the ages, and that they have just as much right and ability to do things as the male gender.

 

Reason for appropriateness: The Essential Question is How do new experiences offer new perspectives? This book should help students think about this question by examining how people learn through trial and error.
